Tribal rugs are the least standardised corner of the trade, which is part of their appeal and part of the risk. Attribution is often uncertain: similar designs travelled between groups, and "Baluch" or "Kazak" on a listing is frequently a style label rather than a verified origin.
Our policy is to label attribution as what it is. Where a piece can be placed with reasonable confidence, we say so. Where the honest answer is "in the style of", the record says that instead.
What is always checkable: the knotting, the wool, the exact size, and the condition. Those are documented for every piece, photographed front and back in daylight.
